One of my favourite RadG beats!

Sick flows as per your usual!

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Thanks for the love on the instrumental.
Since I'm credited I can't review so I'll do it here:
What a soothing song! The vocals are delivered with a relaxed ease that compliments the subjects. It's got a somber melancholy but also warm like a lullaby. Great work.

Always a fresh mind you bring with your rhymes Anj!

Anjovi responds:

Thanks Libby! Red Room was such a satisfying track to work on!
Hope your day's good!

Damn, this is giving me some major Frontalot vibes. Hilarious!

Great use of the Bill Withers 'Use Me' drum loop. Love that break.

first person to recognize the sample award 🎉🏆
Thanks for the 5 stars!

This is dope! Great cover!

satanicpotatoe responds:

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

Atmosphere so thick you cut it with a knife!

That intro reminds me of the opening to the first Black Sabbath record. Sick synths throughout that part. Where'd you source the rain/thunder sample from?

Oo, those are some nice cleans. Sounds kind of like Buckethead's Colma. What guitars, pedals, and amps do you use?

I'm digging that drum tone! That snare is tuned just right! 😍

Have you ever heard of Boris? The middle sounds a lot like their Flood record.

Sick chune mate! Got any Sludgier riffage in the pipes?

MoldyGangstaHero responds:

For the thunder sample I used to have a Splice subscription and I got almost all of the samples off there.

All of the guitar stuff was written using a Yamaha Pacifica I got in 2022 when I first learned how to play the guitar. Usually I would just plug it directly into the audio interface but I bought a pedalboard around when I started recording this album. It mostly used a distortion (Boss DS-1) and a wah (Dunlop Crybaby) but some sections, particularly the clean tone ones, used a chorus (Boss CH-1) or a delay (Boss DD-3T). I had the output sent to a Vox Pathfinder 10 which then went to my audio interface. I think the guitar in this song being in Drop A# also contributes to the sound to an extent

I can definitely see the Boris comparison, the album this is from is based off of the very lush and atmospheric soundscapes of stoner metal, particularly Sleep and Elder. Thought it would be fun to combine it with progressive metal songwriting

I do actually have an album similar to this called "The Land of Kwælghemagea" that goes full on stoner/doom/sludge metal. It came out last July but I've only uploaded it to Newgrounds just now https://www.newgrounds.com/album/452532/the-land-of-kwaelghemagea

Dope!

NitroOrient responds:

Thank you!

Sick lyrics as always, with a fantastic concept, reminding me of how black and white thinking leads humans to misguided ideas and foregone conclusions.

Love those last lines of the verse. They really help hit home the message I think you're trying to convey here.

Who is that hook at the end sampled from? Sick couplet. I'd love to hear the rest of the verses it was sourced from.

Glad to see you're back posting tasty grains of salt.

Anjovi responds:

Thanks Lib! You got what i was going for.

The sample at the end's Rakim The Saga begins

Yooo, this is a pretty schweet ringtone. Any chance you'd extend this?

NitroOrient responds:

I think I might have an extension to this somewhere. I originally made this song and the extension around 2 years ago so I may have lost it or could be hard to find.

Yooo, these drums do, in fact, slap
Make me react like a wild cat
Virile mat attacked by hyrule viral sap
Wicked laughs along a frigid path
Submissive man meets antagonistic girl
Hurlin' sermon, the brat like a Kratt urchin
Trying to escape Zooboomafoo, this the lemur's wrath lurchin'

Sick track! Just wrote some sick bars to this. I'll definitely cop it and record it to this someday.

Love the guitar and sax on this. Who recorded those? I'd love to dig through their catalog for more jazz.

Is that a kalimba I can hear in the right channel at 2:00?

datboi7os responds:

Oh my god that's some very nice and clever lyrics you got there!! Really fits the vibe of the beat as well, if you actually record something on it that would be awesome! The sax and guitar were actually sampled and chopped from a 80s/90s old song can't quite remember the name, and yeah that's kind of a kalimba it's synthetic tho. Thanks for listening!! <33
